Repairs

The piano is a complex mechanism that, over time, can experience various issues.
An unusual sound, resistance under the finger, a bouncing hammer — the list is endless.
These malfunctions affect the playability and enjoyment of playing.
Don't forget to mention them when I come for tuning.

FAQs on repairs

Almost everything! Stuck keys, broken hammers, faulty dampers, or squeaky pedals can all be fixed to restore your piano. I don’t repair the wooden cabinet, but I can recommend specialists if needed.

What can be repaired?

Yes, string replacement is common:

  • Steel strings (mid and treble): immediate replacement.

  • Copper-wound strings (bass): a few days' lead time. These need to be custom-made by a specialist craftsman.

Can a broken string be replaced?

This often involves replacing all the hammers, strings, tuning pins, etc.
I don't carry out this type of complete restoration, but I can recommend specialists who will provide a personalized estimate.

What about a complete restoration?
